Ignitionone Report Shows us Paid Search at Three-Year High

Marketing cloud major IgnitionOne has released its report on Digital Marketing for the first quarter of 2015. The report, which studies Digital and SEM trends in-depth, presents data and emerging patterns in online marketing across programmatic display, search engines, social media and mobile platforms.

According to the report which was cited in a press release on StreetInsider.com, annual growth in US paid search is at a three-year high of 26 percent, and is the third-highest increase in percentage terms in a quarter in six years. With smartphones alone recording an 81 percent year-on-year rise in spend, mobile devices have been highlighted as the major driver of this acceleration. The report highlights key findings such as a 26 percent growth in search spending, rising market shares of Yahoo!/Bing, higher eCPM for Facebook, and the rapid growth of programmatic displays and mobile ads.

Will Margiloff, CEO, IgnitionOne, said in the release, “While many have claimed Google is in decline, that is clearly not happening based on this data. Digital marketing continues to grow and Google is growing with it. However, Google is not the juggernaut it used to be. It faces stiff and unyielding competition on all fronts of their vast multifaceted business in ways it hasn’t experienced for many years. It remains to be seen whether or not they can regain their previous momentum.”
