Zapier, an integrated automation platform for managing a library of 500 web applications, has announced the launch of a powerful new element – Multi-Step Zaps. Zapier, which would previously allow only two step connections between applications at any given time, has unveiled this new feature which allows multiple apps to connect over three, five, twenty or even more steps to streamline workflow automation.
According to a report, the Zapier platform adopts a top-down approach when working with data. Information from the first action can be used to complete other actions that trigger subsequently. For instance, photos uploaded on Instagram, can later be tweeted out on Twitter.
Additionally, the multi-step zap mechanism has been architected to automatically finish a chain of tasks on behalf of users instead of waiting for them to manually code or set up tasks themselves. For instance, when a customer fills out a form, Zapier can automatically match the information against stored records in a CRM, send the file to cloud storage applications and then auto-fill Google Sheets with updated records.
Mike Knoop, Zapier co-founder stated in a blog post that the company had spent the last year listening incorporating customer feedback into their service. In fact they had tested the multi-step process with a focus group of 1,000 customers who suggested wide-ranging frameworks to improve the level of service.
