LinkedIn has announced that it is acquiring Connectifier, an artificial intelligence software development company, in a deal whose terms have yet to be disclosed. As a result of the acquisition, the research and development team of Connectifier will relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area while some of the other teams will be laid off to pursue other opportunities. Other than that, it is not clear as of now exactly how the capabilities of Connectifier will be integrated into LinkedIn’s ecosystem.
A senior leader atLinkedIn said in a release, “By combining LinkedIn’s vast network and products with Connectifier’s powerful machine learning-based search and matching technology, we will be better positioned to accelerate our Talent Solutions product roadmap.”According to the Connectifier’s official blog, it will continue to support their existing solutions, and customer access to its products and services will remain unaffected by the integration.
Connectifier develops automated software that helps recruiters in various activities related to talent identification and acquisition. The company had raised approximately $12 million from True Ventures, Goldcrest Investments, Galeo Ventures and Okapi Venture Capital. With a premium clientele comprising of Salesforce, PayPal, Facebook, ebay, Netflix, Pinterest, Twitter, Nestle, Shopify, Dropbox, and similar companies, Connectifier promises to be a major acquisition for LinkedIn.
