SmartBear Software, a provider of software quality tools for the connected world, has announced an updated Ready! API, which is a framework for testing for API developers designed with the help of the coding languages that are highly popular across the world. This means that developers who operate on Visual Studio utilizing open source .NET to create software will now be able to ensure the quality of API within their elementary workplace directly.
Ready! API was launched earlier this year and had an identical compatibility with Java developers through tools such as IntelliJ, Eclipse, and more. The latest capabilities of its TestServer .NET have been introduced as a broader update angle to the testing framework of Right! API. Through the delivery of .NET framework languages and Java-based open source TestServer SDKs, SmartBear makes sure that the API functional tests can be expressed by the developers in a coding language that they prefer.
John Purcell, Vice President, Products – API Readiness, SmartBear, said in a release, “As testing obligations continue to spread throughout API development and test organizations, a phenomenon many refer to as ‘Shifting Left,’ application providers must become smarter about their user expectations.” He added, “It is simply not reasonable to assume development and test professionals will automatically adjust their workflows to adopt a tool. In fact, the opposite must happen.”
This is the 1.8 version released for Ready! API and it enables SmartBear to provide important enhancements to the server as well as desktop components of the framework. With this all-new and updated Ready! API, organizations can reap many benefits. They can now allow users to push towards more real-world, multi-component, and comprehensive API testing by importing easy tests that are built with the help of Postman into SoapUI NG Pro. Businesses can also get rid of their dependencies that are inter-organizational by placing API virtualization at the disposal of all developers, and they can instinctively manage routing rules that are more granular in nature spread across an extensive number of Virts in ServiceV Pro. Ready! API also helps organizations to acknowledge that API security is the responsibility of everyone, and makes it simple for them to quickly locate and diagnose the vulnerabilities of security at a wider level with the use of Secure Pro.
SmartBear conducted a survey on the usage and development of API this year which disclosed that about 40 percent of the respondents were seeking simpler integration among tools in the coming days. With the growing shift of testing obligations leftward in software organizations, the importance of challenges in terms of integration also rises.
